Hot Discussions on Environmental Sustainability and Coexistence Sun Yat-Sen University Established "Clean Air & HOPE For Health of People and Earth"

    According to the WHO statistics of the World Health Organization, more than 90% of the world's population is exposed to air pollution, and up to 7 million deaths each year can be attributed to air pollution. On the other hand, COVID-19 continued to burn in 2019, and aerosol transmission (also known as aerosol transmission or air transmission) has been confirmed as the main route of virus transmission, highlighting the importance of breathing clean, pollution-free and pathogen free air. In order to arouse the attention of all circles to clean air and the health and well-being of human beings and the earth, the National Sun Yat sen University Aerogel Science Research Center and the Taiwan Sustainable Stack promoted by the Ministry of Science and Technology jointly set up the  "Clean Air & HOPE For Health of People and Earthh". Today (20 days), the unveiling ceremony was held and the two consecutive days of cross cutting forums were opened.
 
   "Clean Air & HOPE For Health of People and Earthh" is planned by Associate Professor Chia C. Wang, the Director of the Aerosol Science Research Center at National Sun Yat-sen University,with the core goal of promoting clean air and the sustainable development of human and earth health, emphasizing the unity of human beings and mother earth Sex and harmony coexist. At the beginning of the event, Professor Chia C. Wang led all participants to practice deep awareness of breathing. Through breathing, we can feel the life community of us, mother earth and all life as one and co-exist, so that the participants can deeply understand the core concept of this sustainable stack —Only the health and sustainability of Mother Earth and the cleanliness of the Earth's atmosphere can ensure the health, well-being and sustainable existence of all human beings and other life on Earth.
 
   Professor Chia C. Wang, the Director of the Aerosol Science Research Center at National Sun Yat-sen University,said that the planning of this interdisciplinary forum is a concrete action practice combining the cooperation of industry, government, academia, research, education and NGO groups. To highlight the key role basic science plays when society and the environment are facing major challenges, and to respond to the United Nations' declaration of 2022 as the "International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development"
 
   The organizer arranged the agenda of "Under the Sky, Between Breathing: Air, Breathing and Health". Experts and scholars shared the close relationship between air and health and the latest research knowledge. In addition, the two consecutive AIR HoPE air pollution control and improvement industry forums will discuss the latest technologies and strategies for air pollution control and emission reduction. In terms of sustainable development education, this event not only planned a national sustainable development education forum, but also carefully arranged two teaching practice workshops combined with SDGs courses for front-line educators, so that teachers at the K-12 learning stage According to the latest development of scientific knowledge and technology, design innovative teaching plans and integrate them into classroom learning. The concept of sustainable development of "Human and Environment Coexistence" was deeply rooted in the event from the very beginning and throughout the entire event, and through the implementation of paperless conference manuals, the use of environmentally friendly stores and tableware that comply with the sustainable spirit of SDGs, on the agenda On the second day, measures such as promoting meat-free days to reduce carbon emissions, and implementing the spirit of sustainable development into concrete actions.
