1st International Symposium on Aerosol Chemistry and Related Reaction Dynamics

Aerosols are ultrafine suspensions of particulate matter in the air. Though their presence is not always noticeable, they are ubiquitous in our surroundings and, therefore, part of what we breathe in. These fine suspensions of particulate matter, such as PM2.5 (particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter smaller than 2.5 μm) generated via various anthropogenic activities, have caused enormous impacts to the atmosphere, environmental ecosystem, and public health. Do you know how these aerosols are formed from their gaseous precursors by undergoing a series of complex physical and chemical transformations? How are aerosols of varying resources and chemical compositions different from each other? How do scientists develop novel aerosol investigation techniques to gain a deeper understanding of the fundamental physicochemical properties of aerosols? The 1st International Symposium on Aerosol Chemistry and Related Reaction Dynamics (iSACRED) will be held by the Aerosol Science Research Center (ASRC), NSYSU, on Dec 5-8, 2018, in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The main theme will be focused on the recent advancements in aerosols' fundamental physical and chemical properties; novel aerosol techniques recently developed that provide new insights into aerosols and their related reaction dynamics. During this symposium, we will also have a forum to discuss the current challenges and future perspectives on how further to advance our understanding of the fundamental characteristics of aerosols
